Making it easier to manage

We could make the game much easier to manage by doing just one thing. Proclaim all the matches where all the players tip the same winner as irrelevant and not count it. That would bring changes to the ranking sistem as well, as we'd only be awarded points for guessing those tips where different folks tipped different winners. What do you all think?

Re: Making it easier to manage

I don't think it happens too often for it to matter. And I don't see how it will affect the rankings. If we remove the match where everyone picked the same winner, everyone gets one point less, and the ranking will remain the same.

Ivanovic - Jankovic - Bartoli - Cirstea
Tipping:
#9 Highest #1 Titles: 2009: Budapest, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, 2010: Sydney, Moscow
Suicide Tennis: #51 Highest #23 Win: Bad Gastein 09, 's-Hertogenbosch 10, RU: Osaka 09, Luxembourg 09
TT Singles: #114 Highest #106
TT Doubles: #62 Highest #62 Titles: 2009 ITF Saint-Gaudens(w Marco tennis), 2010 Barcelona (w WhoAmI)

Re: Making it easier to manage

That's what I'm saying - if everyone picked the same winner it doesen't matter who wins. Either everybody gets a point, or nobody gets a point. So why bother counting all those matches (especially in slams) when they don't even matter. It just makes everything harder to manage and there is a greater chance of mistakes in counting points.

Re: Making it easier to manage

As Tales says, and Mare points out, it doesn't matter deleting the points or leaving them.
So for me it's OK either changing, or not.

Re: Making it easier to manage

I am not an experienced tipping manager (as I never managed):

-It does not make the management easier. You have to insert all picks into a sheet anyhow (eg just to check if all picked the same). If it is already in the sheet then you either have to delete (or give 0 points) or wait till the match ends and give 0 or 1(2,3,4) point. It is the same amount of work.
-I dont think there are too many cases like that. There allways be some guys who go for surprise result. So you are speaking about 3-4 matches a tourney. (Although I dont have statistics)

I am bad and that's good.
I will never be good and that's not bad.
I will always be me.

Re: Making it easier to manage

I don't know why you guys chose to revive a thread in which no one posted for three years about an issue that we obviously chose not to change
